ECONOMIC NEWS THAT AFFECTS OUR INDUSTRY:

AutoNation to Begin Selling Older Used Cars  Editors Note: CDLN submitted a Speakers' Application to NADA for the 2011 Convention touting the need for Dealers to arrange their businesses to sell and repair older used vehicles competitively. Speakers offer their services for free and suffer their own travel and lodging costs. This topic was suggested due to impending economic conditions. The submission was made in May. and summarily rejected in September. We find it ironic that the larger auto groups see it the same way, while NADA chooses to overlook ours and leading econommists mathematical projections for galloping inflation and interest rates coming by mid-2011. AutoNation sees an expanding market for lower-priced used cars for a reason. It's test-bed occuring in Central Florida is no coincidernce. Depressed housing markets and foreclosures there are driving the very same opportunities and issues we are talking about with NADA.
